Qaid Kahani Season II
Qaid Kahani’s second season is based on a fictional diary of a prisoner which he wrote over the years he spent on Pakistan’s death row, one of the largest in the world. This fictional diary is a grim portrayal of the lifeless wait hanging above the heads of those who have been hated, removed from the public eye and are deprived of any chance of redemption.
The series starts from the page written by Haq Nawaz when the moratorium on death penalty in Pakistan was lifted in December 2014, after the deadly attack on Army Public School, Peshawar. The series then chronicles the lives of five condemned prisoners till the execution of the protagonist. The diary is not only an introspection into what it is to live in a limbo on a death row, but also a glimpse of the cruelties and inhumane treatment prisoners face on daily basis in overcrowded prisons of Pakistan.
